iTunes Artwork Finder

This project started out as a simple tool for using the iTunes Search API to download 600x600px artwork for TV shows. However, it became a lot more popular than I expected and requests were made to add movie and iBook artwork. I’ve added these in addition to incorporating album artwork and app icons from the App Store.

Controlling a Tesla Model S with Apple Watch

The world’s first documented case of someone unlocking and starting a Tesla with just an Apple Watch app. The watch has almost full control over the car from opening the roof to turning on the air conditioning. And the craziest part is that this can all be done remotely. You don’t even need to be near the car to issue the commands. It’s all communicated through the internet.

Apple (RED) Welt AIDS Tag 2014 Aktion

To mark World AIDS Day 2014, Apple® and leading app developers are inviting customers to help (RED) achieve the goal of an AIDS-free generation. For the next two weeks, a special section of the App Store℠ called Apps for (RED) will offer 25 apps with exclusive new content where all proceeds will go directly to the Global Fund to fight AIDS. In addition, Apple will donate a portion of sales at Apple’s retail and online stores around the world on two of the biggest shopping days of the year: Friday, November 28 and Monday, December 1.

Monument Valley (Neues Chapter)
Star Walk 2 (Spezielle Informationen zum Mars)
Clear (Neues (PRODUCT)RED Theme).

Stephen Colbert takes on Gamergate with Anita Sarkeesian

Anita Sarkeesian, the creator of feminist video game critique Tropes vs. Women in Video Games, appeared tonight on The Colbert Report to discuss the Gamergate movement. Ostensibly a “consumer revolt” focused on ethics in video game journalism, Gamergate has been criticized for focusing much of its attention on harassing and threatening prominent women in the gaming industry, with Sarkeesian herself the focus of much of the vitriol.

fix macosx – Yosemite telefoniert nach Cupertino

If you’ve upgraded to Mac OS X Yosemite (10.10) and you’re using the default settings, each time you start typing in Spotlight (to open an application or search for a file on your computer), your local search terms and location are sent to Apple and third parties (including Microsoft).

This script modifies the current user’s Spotlight preferences, disabling sharing of Spotlight searches with Apple.

[Edit]

Apple schreibt dazu in Yosemite:
