Why iOS is Compelling

Much like with 2Do, an astonishing amount of people right now are moving — in one way or another — to iOS as a full time computing platform. Perhaps not ditching the Mac completely, but at the very least declaring iOS ready for most of their work. And it’s not just writers, I’ve been seeing some people who do seriously heavy duty work moving to the likes of the iPad Pro and other iOS devices.

Tweetbot 2 für Yosemite

Tweetbot ist auf dem Mac der Twitter Client meiner Wahl. Die 1.x Version wirkte allerdings seit dem neuem Design von OS X 10.10 Yosemite recht fehl am Platz. Mit dem heute erschienenen Tweetbot 2 für Yosemite fügt sich Tweetbot (wieder) perfekt in OS X ein.

iTunes Artwork Finder

This project started out as a simple tool for using the iTunes Search API to download 600x600px artwork for TV shows. However, it became a lot more popular than I expected and requests were made to add movie and iBook artwork. I’ve added these in addition to incorporating album artwork and app icons from the App Store.

Controlling a Tesla Model S with Apple Watch

The world’s first documented case of someone unlocking and starting a Tesla with just an Apple Watch app. The watch has almost full control over the car from opening the roof to turning on the air conditioning. And the craziest part is that this can all be done remotely. You don’t even need to be near the car to issue the commands. It’s all communicated through the internet.
